2001 Season Weekly Race Results

Richard ended up finishing 3rd overall in the point standings with 818 points.

September 15, 2001 - Challenge Cup XXVII Richard was 18th in line to qualify. He qualified 17th. He was lined up in the 8th row outside. This was a 100 Lap event where Richard ended up finishing 8th.

September 14, 2001 - Richard was lined up 22nd to qualify. He qualified 10th. He was lined up in the 5th row to start the main event and ended up posting a 6th place finish.

September 8, 2001 - Unfortunately, this event was "Rained out."

September 1, 2001 - This was a Twin 25 racing event. Richard qualified 5th which placed him in the Trophy Dash where he finished 5th. In the first 25 lap Main Event, Richard finished 4th, and in the 2nd 25 lap Main Event, he posted a 6th place finish. Richard is still 3rd in the point standings, just 58 points out of 1st.

August 25, 2001 - Richard qualified 10th for this event, which placed him in the B-main where he posted a 1st place finish. After a tire and handling problem with the car, Richard finished 13th in the Main Event. Richard is still 3rd in points.

August 18, 2001 - This was the United Power/Touchstone Energy Featherlite Southwest Tour Series. Richard qualified 24th which placed him in the last chance race where they take the 1st and 2nd place cars and transfer them to the Main Event. Richard finished 3rd and was unable to transfer to the Main Event.

August 11 , 2001- Richard qualified 2nd. He ran the Trophy Dash and finished 5th. Richard was lined up in the 3rd row for the Main Event and posted a 9th place finish. Richard continues to be 3rd in the point standings with 596 points.

August 4, 2001 - This was the "Original Coors Night of NASCAR Thunder" 100 lap, double points event where Richard qualified 9th. He ran the B-Main and finished 2nd. He was lined up 8th for the Main Event. After being involved in a minor altercation and being placed in the back of the field, Richard worked his way back to the front and ended up posting a 4th place finish. Richard is currently 3rd in the point standings with 562 points, 42 points out of 1st.

July 27-28, 2001 - This weekend was The Rent RiteWest 150 NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Qualifying was on Friday. Richard qualified for the 24th position. The race was on Saturday. About half way through the race, Richard was involved in a wreck and was unable to finish the race. He ended up posting a 33rd place finish.

July 21, 2001 - Richard qualified 5th. He ran the Trophy Dash, and during the race the power steering went out. He ended up finishing 8th. He was lined up 10th to start the Main Event. Around lap 34, Richard was involved in a wreck and was unable to finish the race. He ended up posting a 10th place finish. Richard is currently 3rd in the point standings with 474.

July 14, 2001 - There was no Late Model Race for this weekend.

July 7, 2001 - Richard qualified 5th and ran the Trophy Dash where he finished 2nd. Unfortunately, the Main Event was rained out.

July 3, 2001 - This was the "Pepsi Red Hot Firecracker Mid-Season Championships" 100 lap, double points event in which Richard qualified 8th. He ran the Trophy Dash and finished 1st. He was lined up in the 6th position for the Main Event and ended up posting a 5th place finish for this event. Richard is currently tied for 2nd in the point standings with 442 points, just 12 points out of 1st.

June 30, 2001 - Richard qualified 9th, which placed him in the B-Main where he ended up finishing 2nd. He posted a 6th place finish in the Main Event.

June 23, 2001 - Richard qualified 8th. He ran the B-Main and finished 1st and went on to finish 5th in the Main Event. Richard is currently 3rd in the point standings with 318 points.

June 16, 2001 - Qualified 6th, which placed Richard in the Trophy Dash. He finished 3rd in the Trophy Dash and went onto the Main Event to post a 6th place finish

June 9, 2001 - Richard qualified 3rd, which placed him in the Trophy Dash. He finished 3rd in the Trophy Dash. He lined up on the inside of the 4th row for the Main Event. At about lap 5 of the Main Event, he was involved in a crash and ended up posting an 8th place finish. Richard is now 3rd in points, just 28 points out of first.

June 2, 2001 - This was the Remax Challenge Series NASCAR Touring Sachs Lawlor 150. Richard was lined up 40th to qualify and ended up qualifying 9th for this race. He started on the 2nd row outside of the race lineup. He was running 4th, and Richard was quoted as saying "the car was like a rocket," unfortunately at about lap 34, the power steering servo blew a seal and he was unable to complete the race. He ended up posting a 25th place finish.

May 27, 2001 - Richard was in line 1st to qualify. He ended up qualifying 6th, which placed him in the Trophy Dash. After being involved in a crash before the 1st lap was completed of the Trophy Dash, Richard was unable to complete the race. After a lot of hard work from Richard and the crew, they were able to get the car back together and start the Main Event. Richard started the Main Event on the outside of the 5th row, and ended up finishing 4th. Richard is now 4th in points, with 200 points, just 14 points out of 1st place.

May 19 - DNQ for the Southwest Tour race at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

May 12 - Qualified 6th, and finished 2nd in the Trophy Dash. This was a 100 lap Main Event. After a racing incident on the first lap, and engine problems, we ended up with an 11th place finish.

May 5 - Unfortunately was another rained out event.

April 28 - We qualified 11th. We ran the B-main and finished 1st. We ended up with a 5th place finish in the Main Event.

April 21 - We qualified 6th. We were not able to run any races as the evening was rained out.

April 14 - We qualified 6th. We ran the Trophy Dash and finished 3rd. We then finished 7th in the Main Event.

April 7 - We qualified 9th, which placed us in the B-main. We finished 1st in the B-main. We started 5th row inside of the Main Event line up and ended up finishing 3rd.

March 31 - Racing was "Snowed out"
